Mysmena gibbosa  Snazell, 1986

Description

Bulbus ovoid. Embolus long and coiled, tip lies in groove of modified cymbium. Epigyne with a short finger-like scape. Prosoma yellow-brown with darker margin and markings, head region raised in males. Sternum middle brown with a pale median stripe and antero-lateral patches. Legs yellow-brown, suffused with dark brown distally. Femur I in females with "femoral organ". Opisthosoma dark grey with many paler patches, dorsally with 4 to 6 white spots (absent in females), posterior part with a prominent protuberance, variable in size

Body length male: 1.06-1.15 mm
Body length female: 1.05-1.25 mm
Additional information

Amongst ground vegetation. This species builds a small orb web.
